"Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, an aspiring Republican candidate for president, has formed a political action committee to help fund New Hampshire candidates for public office.

Pawlenty registered his Freedom First PAC -- New Hampshire Friday. It is chaired by John Lyons, a Portsmouth attorney and chairman of the state Board of Education. The treasurer is Concord lobbyist Bruce Berke."

"'The pendulum, we believe, is swinging back our way," the Minnesota Republican told "Good Morning America's" George Stephanopoulos today. "I think it's going to be terrific."

"Wearing jeans and a blazer, Pawlenty spent much of his aired segment talking about his views on taxes and cutting state budgets. But later, during an extended interview posted on Comedy Central's website, Stewart came back to the big question: Will he run for president?

Pawlenty wasn't saying.

"Mostly, to run nationally, you have to be rich, famous or you gotta have some kind of shtick or novelty," he said. "It's what it's becoming."

Let's just say that the results of Tuesday's primaries did nothing but confirm the notion that this year, being in is out. If you need more proof, take a look at this. A Fox News poll asked if the only thing you knew about a candidate was that one was the incumbent and the other was a new challenger, who would you vote for? Overwhelmingly, 41 to 20 percent, voters said they would vote for the newbie. 

Minnesota lawmakers on Monday approved a budget compromise with Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a political victory for the possible presidential candidate.

The deal, which eliminates a $3 billion deficit, gives Mr. Pawlenty or his eventual successor the power to decide whether to shift thousands of low-income Minnesotans from a state health-care plan to Medicaid ahead of a federal timetable. 

Earlier this spring, Tim Pawlenty announced a contest to select the next recipient of his Freedom First PAC efforts in Congressional elections.  He won’t have to travel far to find the first winner, as selected by visitors to the site.  Sean Duffy, whose insurgent campaign managed to scare incumbent Democrat David Obey into retirement, will appear with Pawlenty in a Facebook fundraising townhall event on Friday afternoon at 5 pm ET:
