"Pawlenty announced the PAC's first endorsements at the Facebook town hall (which had about 1,000 participants), but also took questions and ideas about how to pick future endorsements. The PAC is now holding an online contest to determine future endorsements. Participants vote for their favorite, and are invited to nominate more candidates for the next round of endorsements.

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – Today, Governor Tim Pawlenty endorsed six candidates and launched an online contest for grassroots supporters to choose their favorite candidate endorsed by the PAC so far. The winning candidate will benefit from a donation matching campaign by the PAC, a fundraising email, and will be invited to co-host a Facebook town hall with Governor Pawlenty.

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – Today, Governor Tim Pawlenty’s Freedom First PAC endorsed Randy Demmer for Minnesota's First Congressional District. Demmer is currently serving in his fourth term in Minnesota’s House of Representatives, where he’s helped Governor Pawlenty balance the budget without raising taxes.
 

In his second visit to Iowa in six months, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said Republican party unity is essential to wrest power from Democrats who have dangerously expanded the role of federal government.

Pawlenty spoke to about 600 people at an Iowans for Tax Relief event in Urbandale on Saturday. Pawlenty is weighing a run for president in 2012, and last visited the state in November.

Fees and taxes are being raised around the country to make up for shrinking state and local revenues, but not in Minnesota. Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty has signed a tax cut for businesses that makes his state an outlier to the tax raising frenzy.

St. Paul, Minn. — Gov. Tim Pawlenty says he plans to sue over the federal health care law.

Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson yesterday rejected Pawlenty's request to file a lawsuit. The DFL attorney general told the Republican governor he could file his own friend-of-the-court brief as governor to support the lawsuit filed by 13 state attorneys general.

Pawlenty said Tuesday he may join in that lawsuit, or bring one himself.

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will hold a Facebook town hall tonight at 7:15 pm ET, and last night he spoke to Greta van Susteren on Fox News to discuss it, the Tea Party, and the effort to sue the federal government over the ObamaCare mandate. The Facebook event will serve as a platform to announce the first endorsements from Pawlenty’s Freedom First PAC, but also to take questions from participants and to get suggestions for the next wave of endorsements.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will become the first major political leader on Wednesday to hold a town hall meeting via Facebook.

The event will begin at 8:15 p.m. eastern time and last half an hour. The format allows the potential 2012 GOP presidential hopeful to appear live on camera, with attendees sending questions for him to respond to in real time.
