Freedom’s global decline
The mission of this PAC is to put freedom first again in America by fighting to turn back the growth of Washington.
In its current issue, the Economist offers a good reminder about how fortunate we are to live in a free country – and how fewer people across the globe are able enjoy the fruits of liberty. Writes the Economist:
Taken as a whole, the findings suggest a huge turn for the worse since the bubbly mood of 20 years ago, when the collapse of Soviet communism, plus the fall of apartheid, convinced people that liberal democracy had prevailed for good. … Today, the idea that politicians in ex-communist countries would take humble lessons from Western counterparts seems laughable. There is more evidence of authoritarians swapping tips.
The report is a reminder of how fragile freedom can be – and how fortunate we are to live in America.

I'm listening to suggestions, on the eve of the state of the union address, that we should spend the remainder of the stimulous, $500 some odd billion dollors, on public works programs. WHAT, a half a trillion dollors to EXPAND the government employment rolls!!! GOVERNMENT JOBS ARE THE PROBLEM!!!
